Sam has over 23 years of technology industry experience with over 20 years in US. During his career, Sam has held various senior management positions at world renowned companies such as Amdocs, AT&T Bell Labs, Netscape, SSA, CDI Inc. as well as at highly successful startups such as Kiva Software, Calico Commerce, and Shakti Systems. During his career, Sam has held key responsibilities in diverse functional areas including R&D, engineering management, sales, strategy and operations.

In his previous role as a Vice President at Amdocs India, Sam was responsible for building and executing on Amdocs’s India strategy.

Prior to Amdocs, Sam has been credited with building worldwide technical sales teams for enterprise markets at Netscape and Calico Commerce, for releasing highly successful enterprise class software products to market at SSA and Consolidated commerce and playing a key role in successful acquisition at Kiva software and Shakti Systems and record breaking IPO at Calico Commerce. Sam has also co-founded two companies.

Sam holds a B.Tech. in engineering from IIT-Bombay, M.S in computer science from Virginia Tech and has done substantial work towards doctorate in computer science from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Amitabh Khare is the Director Quality Assurance, AMSSD and has an extensive experience in managing and improving software product quality across different domains. Before joining Avaya he was with Persistent Systems Ltd. where he conceptualized and set up a practice in software verification and validation. He was also instrumental in setting up and heading Persistent’s first development center in Nagpur. A mechanical engineer by education he got his Masters degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Iowa State University.

Ashwin Kumar, Director - R&D, for the Customer Service Application Division is responsible for development of key products for Avaya, including Contact Center products like Interaction Center, Proactive Contact, SIP Contact Center, Customer Interaction Center, IP Agent and others. Mr. Kumar also leads the Solutions Support Engineering team that supports Avaya’s global customer base out of Pune. Prior to this, Mr. Kumar was with Bigates Software (Mumbai, India) as Director R&D and Director Operations, where he helped create offshore dedicated software delivery centers for Qunitus/Avaya, as well as develop software applications for enabling ITES delivery. Prior to this, Mr. Kumar helped conceptualize, develop and implement Cisco’s device management strategy as a Software Development Manager at Cisco System (San Jose, CA). His team also developed the NBAR technology for QoS as part of his contributions to the Enterprise WAN Business Unit at Cisco.

Prior to that, Mr. Kumar consulted on data/telecom networking and system level development for companies like Bell-Northern Research, NEC, Synopsys, Nortel, IBM-KSA and others. He holds a Bachelors degree in Science from Mumbai University, and is pursuing an executive MBA degree at Unversitas 21 Global, Singapore.

Services Vice President, Global Services Delivery

Two years ago when we started the GSD organization we modeled it to cater to the changing needs of the global customers and future state of the support operations. In our endeavor to create a world class enterprise product support organization, we focus on building customer management capability which includes technical skills, focus on service orientation, understanding the business impact and the cultural context of the customer. "

Rajeev Shroff is the Head of the Global Services Delivery (GSD) team at Avaya India and the APAC Theater lead for GSD.

As Services Vice President, Rajeev manages the strategic development and operations of the Global Services Delivery centre in India. With the key focus on enhancing customer satisfaction though improved process, quality and knowledge management practices. As the APAC Theater lead, he is responsible for ensuring successful delivery of Product support services to our customers in the region, and managing the interface with other Lines of Businesses.

Rajeev is engaged in a forum with heads of other companies such as Microsoft, Symentec and others to share best practices and to increase the focus on India as a destination for Enterprise Services investments. He also works with Industry forums like SSPA, NASSCOM, CII, Academia and Student communities to build awareness about Services as a challenging and rewarding career.

Prior to Avaya, Rajeev worked with Oracle Corporation, where he was the Senior Director- Product Support. In this role, Rajeev was responsible for managing the India Support Center which he helped startup. In addition, Rajeev also provided mentorship to the Oracle on-Demand Delivery function based out of India, and was part of the India Management Group, driving synergies across various Line of Businesses based in India. During his 12 year stint at Oracle, Rajeev held various prominent positions such as Director-Application Support, Director-Vertical Applications Development and Director–IT Operations.

Rajeev holds an Engineering degree and has over 19 years experience in the IT industry. During this time, he has been actively involved in Customer Management, Project Management, Product Development, People Management, and Business & Market Strategy.

Consulting Member of Technical Staff, Research Labs

"Communications involving humans are inherently multimodal. The spatial nature of documents and temporal nature of speech together provides the richness in communication. My research interests are in leveraging multiple modalities such as documents, speech, ink and video to provide better end user experience to our customers"

Dr. Ramanujan Kashi is a senior Research Scientist, Multimedia Technologies Research at Avaya. He and his team contribute to Avaya’s research in document image processing, SMS and digital ink, user authentication, collaboration and e-learning, streaming video, self-service systems, and the use of these technologies in Avaya’s CRM and VoIP offers.

Ram obtained his Bachelors from Mysore University, Masters and Doctoral degrees from Rutgers University in New Jersey, USA. Soon after, he joined AT&T Bell Laboratories at Murray Hill in 1994 as Member of Technical Staff, transferred to Lucent Bell Labs in 1996 and to Avaya Labs Research in 2000. In 2004, he relocated to Avaya India to start a research group in multimedia technologies. He has numerous book chapters, edited a book on document processing and over forty publications and seven patents.
