Pune
– Avaya India is looking at the Pune centre growing to play a bigger role in the telecommunications technologies offered by its global parent, according to Ravi Sethi, president of Avaya Inc's Avaya Labs.
"This is already our largest location," says Sethi, who was in India for a software symposium organised by the local arm.
The centre, set up in 2004, is already contributing a 'substantial' part of the company's research and development efforts: "Products created here are sold around the world," he says.
It has also spearheaded the growth of Avaya Inc. with innovations in contact centre solutions like the Communication Process Manager and Video Contact Centre, both developed in India.
"While our focus is on basic communication, our biggest vertical in India is in the financial sector," Sethi adds. The symposium had global participation from scientists and engineers around the Avaya Universe.
