As Korea’s largest auto complex, Seoul
Auto Gallery (SAG) sought to move ahead by using technology
to further differentiate itself from traditional, old-fashioned
used-car dealers. Dealers needed to access real-time
information regarding the features and prices of cars
anywhere in the showroom, enhancing their efficiency.
SAG also wanted a system that could reduce dealers’
communication expenses, which accounted for a considerable
portion of their overall costs.
SAG wanted to implement a complete wireless IP telephony
solution that could deliver both mobility through seamless
roaming features and reliability in voice transmission
across 2,000 mobile devices over the IP network. The
project was enormous in scope, covering a gross floor
area of 783,000 square feet with 4,800 lines and 2,000
IP users.
The Avaya IP Telephony solution won over competing
solutions by clearly demonstrating the best performance
innumerous categories, including IP Softphone application
features over PDA and voice quality over an IP network.
SAG is now equipped with a one-stop sales solution and
has moved ahead as the first to integrate IP telephony
into a wireless network in Korea. This innovative wireless
IP telephony has enabled SAG to realize enhanced productivity
through complete business mobility. With this solution,
sales agents can use their PDAs to more efficiently
manage end-to-end sales processes. From moving customers
between cars on the showroom floor to behind-the-scenes
process of warehousing, inspection, transaction, insurance
and delivery, agents can handle tasks with wireless
